Store closures at Floors-2-Go
Floors-2-Go, the covering retailer, is under the spotlight tonight after the sudden closure of shops in the west Midlands.
The 94-store floor covering retailer is thought to have sounded out restructuring companies about turning around its performance and has been linked to Resolve, a firm based in London.
Floors-2-Go’s management did not return calls today but the company said it was issuing a press statement this evening, although its details are unclear.
Resolve refused to comment.
Floors-2-Go’s shops in Bilston, Oldbury and Great Barr were not trading today.
A number of directors have also left Floors-2-Go in recent months. Jim Hodkinson, who joined as chairman in January left in May. Mr Hodkinson declined to comment.
Floors-2-Go fell into administration in 2008, when it was backed by the private equity firm Alchemy Partners. The original founders of the chain, the Hodges family, then bought back the chain in 2009.
