The honorary president and two senior managers of Opel, the scandal-hit German subsidiary of General Motors, resigned yesterday to spare the company harm, the company announced. The three are director of production Peter Enderle; Friedrich Lohr, a member of the supervisory council, and honorary president Ferdinand Beickler. Opel said that according to information from the state prosecutors, they are investigating 64 Opel employees, against 19 of which there is "concrete suspicion", but it had no evidence of culpability against the three who had resigned.
