Orange seeks Eire licence

ORANGE, the mobile phone company, has bid for the third mobile phone licence in the Republic of Ireland. Orange said it was open to the future participation of local partners in its bid application. Eircell and Esat Telecom Group currently operate mobile phone services in Ireland. Since its launch in 1994, Orange has connected over 1.3 million customers to its wire-free network and it has a UK market share of more than 14.2 per cent.
