Pay settlements rising

Further signs of escalating wage inflation have emerged in figures from the Engineering Employers Federation, which show pay settlements in the industry rising at an annual rate of 3.4 per cent over the last three months, up from 3.3 per cent in the previous period. The Federation said pay pressures were building in the economy.
