RICHARD LAY, president of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), has got more on his plate than he anticipated at tonight's annual property bash.
For the RICS' annual dinner tonight at the Great Room in the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, Mr Lay has booked Ken Livingstone to debate with Lord Archer "The qualities required for the mayor of London."
The glittering occasion will be given added piquancy by the suspension last week of Lord Archer's son James Archer from Credit Suisse First Boston where he is being investigated for alleged financial irregularities.
Will anyone refer to this unfortunate occurrence?
Follow the debate live on the Internet at the RICS' site on www.rics.org.
