JARVIS, THE maintenance and facilities management group yesterday saw its shares jump 6 per cent to 317.5p, as it announced its contract dispute with Railtrack had been solved.
Jarvis had revealed in June that talks with Railtrack - its largest customer - over maintenance and track renewal contracts had stalled, hitting year- end profits. The dispute had centred on "measurement and price issues" with the rail network operator on four track renewal contracts in the north-east, north-west, Scotland and the Midlands, and six maintenance contracts in the north of England.
