The Inland Revenue has abandoned plans to allow companies to file their corporation tax returns electronically, as a result of problems thrown up by a pilot scheme that has been running since November.
Electronic filing of tax returns was meant to provide efficiencies for the Revenue by creating a paperless office. But following the pilot, tax inspectors said they preferred to continue using paper.
