Rise in receiverships

There was a 30 per cent jump in the number of administrative receiverships and administration order appointments in March, according to the accountancy firm Touche Ross. The number rose from 176 in February to 228, with the increase concentrated on three sectors. These were finance and business services (up 61 per cent) retailing (14 per cent) and wholesaling (13 per cent).
