A LEAP second will be added to the nation's clocks on 1 July this year, and the nation's computers can now adjust their internal clocks by calling up the National Time Scale. The service, Truetime, run by the National Physical Laboratory, is based on a group of atomic clocks accurate to a second in 100,000 years.
