Shipyard joins the space race

A shipyard yesterday joined the space race by securing a pounds 60m order for a roll-on, roll-off ship which will ferry satellites and rockets to a launch site off America's Pacific coast. The order for the Norwegian-owned Kvaerner Govan yard in Glasgow will guarantee work for the 1,300 people employed at the yard until 1997.
