SIMS FOOD Group, the beefburger manufacturer almost wiped out by the BSE crisis, has announced the completion of its strategic review alongside a trading update saying profits should exceed market expectations.
The completion of the review will see chief executive, Stephen Collier, leave in March, having overseen the sale of the fresh retail meats business. Sims will focus on fast food, involving the closure of its Milton Keynes head office with functions moving to the manufacturing site in Hull. Annual cost savings are expected to be pounds 500,000. Paul Harrison has been appointed managing director.
