The Office of Fair Trading has won informal undertakings from British Sky Broadcasting that will increase competition in the delivery of cable services. BSkyB will "unbundle" its cable offerings, removing conditions that obliged cable operators to take a package of Sky channels in order to be eligible for discounts. The discount scheme will be extended until the end of year, and will be graduated to provide the highest savings to operators who take all of Sky's channels. BSkyB will also separately account for revenues from direct-to-home and cable distribution.
