SUN worshippers will soon be able to check that they are not overdoing it with a small, cheap and portable device that gives an instant reading on ultraviolet light. The meter, developed at the University of Wales, Bangor, records the wavelengths of light known to cause damage to skin, providing a reliable early warning of over-exposure.
