Taking Stock

Heavy turnover in Verity, up 1.75p to 28p. It is thought the Hong Kong group Wo Kee Hong, which once had more than 20 million shares, has completed selling the stake. Verity has had an eventful time as the clamour over its wafer-thin sound system has increased.

Sibir, a Russian oil business closely related to Melrose Energy, up 1.5p to 26p, is due to arrive on AIM within a month. The company has a stake in a joint venture to develop an estimated 1.25 billion-barrel oil field in Siberia. Shell is also deeply involved in the venture.

CIA, the media buying group, rose 16p to 152.5p. Its 19-year run of profit increases is over following a pounds 1.8m settlement with ITV companies. Around pounds 5.8m against pounds 6.8m is expected.
