Pex, the once ailing sock maker stepping out under the guidance of Italian aristocrat, Andrea Cattaneo Della Volta, firmed 0.25p to 6.75p as stockbroker Teather & Greenwood forecast continuing recovery.

After a long run of losses the company returned to the black in the first half of this year and Teather's Jon Levinson thinks the year's outcome will be a pounds 480,000 profit.

He looks for pounds 650,000 next year and then pounds 760,000.

Tele-Cine Cell, the film and video group, fell almost 18 per cent to 53.5p. The shares were 125p in November.

Profits have been under pressure and there are worries that the company will not be able to hit the pounds 1.4m the market is expecting this year.
