o Shares in AIM-quoted Dawson Holdings, Britain's third largest newspaper distributor, rose 30p to 1675p for a two-day gain of 75p. The jump follows a site visit on Tuesday by analysts and fund managers. Dawson's shares are among the most liquid on AIM and were the most heavily traded on the junior market in July.
o BTG, the old British Technology Group, moved sharply higher in late trade. The shares closed up 37.5p at 2387.5p on hopes that Ford is about to sign a licensing deal for Torotrak, BTG's automotive transmission system that saves on fuel consumption.
o A tour of institutional investors is paying off for Jarvis. Shares in the construction group, which owns a British Rail maintenance contract, rose 5.5p to 103p.
