The North American investors in Talk Radio, the recovering all-talk commercial radio station, are selling their shares at a loss, leaving Media Ventures International solidly in control. Both CanWest, Canadian backer of one of the failed bids for the new Channel 5 licence, and Emmis Broadcasting of the US are selling their 24.5 per cent stakes to MVI. The move follows disagreements over the station's strategic direction and a decision by CanWest to concentrate on broadcast media in the UK.
