Microsoft, Yahoo!, Apple and Samsung have all reported results so far this week and the tech trend continues with figures from Google and Amazon late tonight.
Google disappointed with weaker than expected third quarters as growth in its advertising business slows and investors will been watching closely to see if this worrying trend continues. The search giant’s cost per click, the amount it earns every time someone clicks on one of its ads, has been falling.
Amazon too missed Wall Street’s expectations in the previous quarter and performance over the crucial Christmas period will be closely monitored. Amazon has estimated revenue growth of between 7 per cent and 18 per cent.
