DT Industries, a US production systems manufacturer, said it has signed a letter of intent to acquire Lucas Assembly and Test Systems, a division of engineering group LucasVarity.

Negotiations on the terms - including the price - are not complete, according to Bruce Erdel, DT's vice-president for finance.
