Travelers in $4bn Aetna deal
Travelers Group, the US insurance group, yesterday confirmed it had agreed to buy the property casualty unit of Aetna Life Insurance for $4bn. The new company will be the fourth biggest property and casualty insurers in the US. Travelers said it expected to achieve at least $300m in cost savings over two years.
