United Utilities debut

The UK's first combined water, electricity and telecommunications utility,United Utilities, will come into being on 1 January, created by North West Water's takeover of regional electricity company Norweb.With sales of over pounds 2.5bn and market capitalisation of over pounds 3bn, it will be one of the 50 biggest UK firms.
