The number of women managers is rising and more are reaching the boardroom than ever before, according to a survey released today by the Institute of Management. The number of women board members has reached a new peak of 3 per cent while the number of female managers is up to 10.7 per cent, compared with 9.5 per cent a year ago.
Women managers received a higher average pay increase last year than their male colleagues, being awarded 5.1 per cent against 4.7 per cent - but female managers and directors are still paid less than men.
