WPP man quits

ROBERT Gray, chairman of Hill and Knowlton, the public relations subsidiary of WPP, the advertising and media group, has resigned.

Mr Gray joined Hill and Knowlton in 1961 after serving as Secretary of the US Cabinet in the Eisenhower administration.

He became chairman and chief executive of Hill and Knowlton USA, as well as chairman of Hill and Knowlton's worldwide public affairs operation, in 1986. He was named chairman of the board in 1991.
