Radical campaigners for the legalisation of cannabis are threatening to expose MPs and ministers who have smoked the drug in an "outing" exercise echoing the tactics of gay rights activists.
Although leaders of the Campaign to Legalise Cannabis International Association believe the move would be counter-productive, there is increasing irritation among some members at what they see as hypocrisy in government.
The Mirror newspaper was today due to hand over to police the cannabis they allegedly bought from a cabinet minister's son in a case which has prompted widespread discussion on drug law reform.
