Cinema bans baby from film

A seven-week-old baby was banned by a cinema because his mother wanted to see a film with a 15 certificate. Susan Kidd, 33, an accountant, carried baby George to the ABC cinema in Bristol to watch Jane Campion's version of Henry James's Portrait of a Lady.

But box-office staff said baby George was too young to go in. Ms Kidd, of Henleaze, Bristol, said: "They said that if they let us in they would be breaking the law as no one under 15 is allowed into the film." An ABC spokesman said: "If we were to let an under-age person into the film we could lose our licence."
