BERMUDANS WERE warned last night that a tropical storm may reach them within two days.

Arlene, the first tropical storm of the two-week-old Atlantic hurricane season, was about 300 miles from the island yesterday afternoon and moving west at about 6mph. Its maximum sustained wind speed was 50mph.

James Franklin, of the US National Hurricane Centre, said Arlene would not hit the US coast within the next three days.
