STRONG WINDS disrupted the opening day of the second Rowing World Cup regatta on the New Danube lake near Vienna yesterday. Following gusts of up to 70mph, racing was postponed soon after midday with less than half of the day's schedule complete.
Earlier, Canada's multi-World and Olympic medallist Marnie McBean won her single sculls heat in the fastest time of the day.
