RAINSTORMS LASHING the southern Netherlands yesterday flooded underground storage depots at a Rotterdam museum, soaking a valuablebook collection. A spokesman for the Boijmans van Beuningen museum said: "The books were literally cast afloat."
The collection, on art history, has been transferred to industrial walk- in fridges at a local factory where it will be freeze-dried to prevent mould.
