TORRENTIAL RAIN, floods and lightning have killed 14 people in northern and eastern Romania in the past three days.
Seven of the victims died after rain triggered a landslide in a village in the eastern county of Buzau. Three were killed by lightning.
Officials said a heat wave had abruptly turned into a downpour, swelling rivers and sending waves of mud through hillside villages.
