HURRICANE DENNIS will menace the south-east coast of the US with strong winds and a surging tide before being pushed back out to sea.
The National Hurricane Centre in Miami issued a tropical storm warning for much of the Carolina coast, meaning winds of 35mph or more could reach the beaches and barrier islands early today. Tides two to four feet above normal will cause coastal flooding.
