AT LEAST two people died and dozens of homes were damaged on the Italian island of Sardinia after two days of driving rain caused flash floods, officials said yesterday.
A 42-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man were swept away by floods on Saturday when streams swollen by the rainstorms broke their banks.
Hundreds of people were left temporarily homeless near the regional capital, Cagliari.
