In The Independent on Sunday of 23 December, an article stated that Amnesty International recommends that the use of Tasers on children and vulnerable people "should be avoided in all circumstances".
Amnesty International has asked us to make clear that it recommends that the use of Tasers on children and vulnerable people should be avoided in all circumstances, except where police officers are faced with an immediate threat to life or serious injury which cannot be contained by a less extreme option.
