Mandy Allwood, who caused controversy last year by attempting to give birth to eight babies - and losing all of them - gave birth yesterday to a healthy 7lb 5oz daughter.

She was said to be delighted last night at King's College Hospital, south London. "We are absolutely over the moon, we just can't believe it," said her partner Paul Hudson. "After everything we've been through it's all just fantastic."
