Diana inquiry: Who conspired with whom?

DIANA'S death was not an accident, she was assassinated. Who says so? Thousands of conspiracy theorists who believe the truth is out there.

These are some of the theories.

She was murdered by MI6 at the behest of the Duke of Edinburgh, who felt she was destabilising the Royal Family. An Egyptian lawyer is preparing a case to bring the head of MI6 and the Duke to trial on the charges in Cairo.

The real killers were Israeli agents who were determined to prevent a member of the Royal Family getting married to an Arab who would then become the stepfather of the future British king.

She was killed by the French secret service which had driver Henri Paul on its payroll and was prepared to sacrifice him. Indeed, an ITV documentary earlier this week claimed Mr Paul had links with French intelligence.

The Freemasons - reason unknown, but four of the paparazzi chasing the car were allegedly members.

The Princess and Dodi were murdered by business rivals of Mohamed Al Fayed.

The CIA was involved, which is why so many crash witnesses were American.

Diana and Dodi were on their way to meet a drug dealer and got caught up in an underworld feud.

She has not died at all - and the Princess is now living under a different identity.
