Diana record pirates

Pirate recordings of Elton John's tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales are on sale worldwide, it was revealed yesterday.

Counterfeit versions of "Candle in the Wind 1997" have been found in five countries as criminals seek to cash in on the wave of public sympathy following her death.

Reports that pirate CDs are also on sale on the streets of Northern Ireland are also under investigation, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry announced.

"It comes as no surprise that illegal copies of the `Candle in the Wind 1997' single are being sold because it confirms everything we have ever said about pirates - they are nothing more than parasites," said director general Nic Garnett.
