Boy and girl expelled from boarding school
Two pupils were asked to leave a top Catholic boarding school after they were caught in bed together, it was revealed today.
The boy and girl were discovered in a dormitory by a member of staff at Stonyhurst College in Clitheroe, Lancashire, last month.
Founded in 1593 by a Jesuit priest, the internationally renowned boarding and day school attracts pupils from all over the world.
Headteacher Andrew Johnson said: "A recent incident took place between two pupils at Stonyhurst College. The 16 and 17-year-old pupils have been asked to leave and the college now considers the matter closed.
"Stonyhurst promotes Catholic teaching on morality and relationships. If any individual falls short of the high standards we encourage, we take proportionate and timely action.
"Pastoral matters concerning individual pupils are, of course, entirely private."
