Cambridge Results 2011 - Tompkins Table
Trinity College is the top college in the Tompkins Table of performance at Cambridge University this year, pushing Emmanuel into 2nd place and regaining the lead it held in 2009.
As can be seen Trinity Hall, Trinity's neighbouring college, came in 3rd, its highest position for 24 years. These three were well ahead of other colleges in the table which allocates 100% score for candidates ranked with a first, 60% for those with a 2-1, 40% for a 2-2 and 20% for a third.
The largest changes in the table this year were for Jesus College (up from 16th to 8th) and Peterhouse (down from 7th to 18th). Most other moves were fairly small.
Trinity College, which is also Oxbridge's largest college, also achieved a record 37% in First class, well ahead of any other college.
The table, which analyses results from all 29 colleges entering students for BA tripos exams, has been compiled since 1981 by Peter Tompkins, a consulting actuary who studied at Trinity College.
