3 per cent of consumers say they do not celebrate Christmas.

5 per cent of consumers are attracted by the prospect of seeing Santa Claus in a store.

8 per cent of British organisations will have people on duty on Christmas Day.

14 per cent of us eat goose at Christmas.

19 per cent of us start our Christmas shopping in October.

22 per cent of Americans think that Santa Claus would register as a Republican.

23 per cent of us enjoy going carol singing.

39 per cent of Americans think that Santa Claus would register as a Democrat.

49 per cent of 18-to-24-year-olds would rather go abroad for Christmas than stay in Britain.

56 per cent of homes with children leave sherry and mince pies out for Santa Claus.

67 per cent of us eat turkey at Christmas.

83 per cent of us expect to spend Christmas with our families.

90 per cent of people think too much money is wasted on unwanted Christmas presents.

94 per cent of mothers enjoy the time they spend in the kitchen at Christmas.
