Public Services Management Update: Rubbish savings

Councils have saved an average of 27 per cent on refuse collection contracts as a result of compulsory competitive tendering, according to analysis conducted by the London Business School. Savings ranged from zero to 50 per cent, with the largest authorities gaining the most.
