The Hawaiian-born yokozuna (grand champion) Akebono will sit out the Kyushu Grand Tournament that begins tomorrow for a knee injury. Akebono, or Chad Rowan, suffered a torn cartilage in his left knee during the previous tournament in Tokyo in September, and he has not yet completely recovered. The contest in Fukuoka, southwestern Japan, will be the eighth tournament the 28-year-old wrestler has missed due to injury.
