Madam: Wendy Berliner reminds us all of the Government's stance on class size, quoting Gillian Shephard, Eric Forth and Kenneth Clarke - ie, there is no proven connection between class size and the quality of education.

I suggest that all parents with children in state schools write and ask their MPs which schools they chose for their own children and, if it was independent, what the average class size was.

My own MP was remarkably evasive on this question.
