Teachers from around the world share their secret confessions

A large number of educators admitted to lowering the grades of students they did not like

Teachers from across the world have shared the some of their darkest secrets - from what they really think of their pupils to who they mark down and why.

A range of anonymous educators from all over the world made the confessions on secret-sharing website and app Whisper.

A large number admitted to lowering the grades of students they did not like.

One teacher from California said: "I hate to admit it but if I hate a student, I drop their grades by 5-10 per cent. All those assumptions kids have that teachers hate them are true."

Another teacher confessed: "I grade harsher when I don't like the student".

Some users expressed how much they enjoyed their job and cared about their students. One Iowa teacher said "My students put me in a much better mood. This is why I teach".

Another said: "I genuinely love my students and care for them, it's sickening - an emotionally invested teacher."

Not all teachers seem to share the same opinion about their students, however, with some expressing a pointed disdain for the young people they work with.

"I hate when my students tell me about their lives," said one teacher "because I honestly don't care."

They were not the only ones without a lot of admiration for their students. One post said "I wish I could tell my students how dumb they are being. Seriously, I don't know what they're going to do in life".

Several teachers confessed to mischief in the classroom, with one saying: "I tripped a kid in my class today 'accidentally' for calling my other student gay."

Another admitted that "when two students hate each other I pair them up".

One teacher may have revealed a reason for teachers assigning groups and insisting you cannot work with your friends.

"I never let students pick their own lab groups," they said.

"There is always one kid nobody invites to their group. It breaks my heart."
