Family of 22 murdered in Algeria

Armed men massacred a family of 22 in an Algerian village, the authorities said, while newspapers reported that at least a dozen members of the security forces were killed in two ambushes by Islamic insurgents. A Muslim extremist cleric was reported to have died in a third ambush.
