MOHAMED AL Fayed has failed in his High Court bid to block libel action brought by former Tory MP Neil Hamilton in the wake of the "cash for questions" affair.

The former MP for Tatton is suing over claims made on a Channel 4 Despatches programme in January 1997 that he received free shopping, gift vouchers, cash and a holiday at the Paris Ritz from Mr Fayed.
