Ferry-port car bomb charge

A MAN was yesterday charged with possession of a 1,000lb car bomb, intercepted by an armed garda unit at Dun Laoghaire ferry-port in Ireland on Thursday morning.

Larry Keane, 41, an unemployed man from Clonee near Athy, County Kildare, was charged at Dublin's Special Criminal Court with possession of the bomb which contained 980lb of home-made explosives.
