Financier's daughter smuggled cocaine
The daughter of a wealthy businessman was found guilty yesterday of smuggling more than pounds 400,000 worth of cocaine into London.
Sara Westwood, 23, was arrested at Heathrow airport last April as she returned, via Frankfurt, from the Caribbean. The convent-educated 23-year- old - daughter of Roger Westwood, managing director of Hogg Robinson Financial Services - had denied being knowingly concerned in the smuggling of 4.609 kilos of the drug.
Westwood, the mother of a three-year-old boy, had been living on benefit in temporary accommodation in Reading, until her arrest, Isleworth Crown Court in west London was told. Also found guilty of the charge were, Lanceford Wallace, 25, and Cedric Edwards, 34, both of Lewisham, south London, who were said to have acted as minders for the drugs. A fourth defendant, Tony Walker, 31, of Croydon, admitted the charge and will be sentenced with the others on 21 February.
