France sceptical over Iraq
At the meeting of EU foreign ministers being held in Tralee, Ireland, France voiced reservations about last week's US attack, ordered to punish Saddam Hussein's invasion of parts of Kurdish areas in northern Iraq. Officials said that France appeared isolated in its opposition but that an EU statement would back Paris's line that the territorial integrity of all states in the region had to be respected.
