More than 100 people turned out to back a councillor who may face charges after using a gun to arrest three youths he suspected of trying to steal his car. Robert Cooper, 51, of Oxspring, South Yorkshire, said he was amazed at the support as he left to drive himself for questioning by police over the incident on 8 November.
