Headmaster's killing trial

A gang wearing scarves across their faces and ranked in order of height walked in procession past the school gates just minutes before headmaster Philip Lawrence was stabbed to death, a court heard yesterday.

Giving evidence on the fifth day of the trial at the Old Bailey, Andrew Graham, Mr Lawrence's deputy at St George's school in Maida Vale, London, told the jury how the gang chased a boy across a road causing chaos amongst pupils. Mr Graham also described how one of the gang seemed to be armed.
