Barack Obama calls Trump administration’s coronavirus response a ‘chaotic disaster’ in leaked recording

Barack Obama has called the current US president's response to the Covid-19 pandemic a "chaotic disaster".

The former president made the comments in a private phone call, and came to light after Yahoo News obtained audio from the conversation.

"It has been an absolute chaotic disaster when that mindset – of ‘what’s in it for me’ and ‘to heck with everybody else’ – when that mindset is operationalised in our government,” Mr Obama said.

Two more young children die from coronavirus-related disease, New York governor says

Two more children have died from a disease potentially related to Covid-19 in New York, the governor has announced.

The state has been faced with a wave of illnesses among young children, where they have symptoms similar to Kawasaki disease - a rare inflammatory condition - and toxic shock syndrome, and could be related to coronavirus.

“The illness has taken the lives of three young New Yorkers. This is new, and it’s developing,” Mr Cuomo said.

Robot dog in Singapore enforcing lockdown restrictions in city's parks

A headless robotic dog has been patrolling a park in Singapore to enforce social distancing rules.

The yellow and black machine plays a recording reminding dwellers of the lockdown rules of coronavirus.

“Let’s keep Singapore healthy. For your own safety and for those around you, please stand at least one metre apart. Thank you,” a female voice says on repeat.
